"E-learning" Community to Host Inaugural Gala

WASHINGTON, January 11, 2001 — Educators, corporate leaders, and policymakers will gather at an inaugural gala at the Folger Shakespeare Library to honor the new president, vice president, and Congress and to celebrate the power of technology to transform learning. The gala, hosted by the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET), will be attended by public and private decision-makers in the education technology field.

"This is a night to celebrate the positive impact that technology is already having on teaching and learning and to reaffirm its potential to do even more," said NCTET president Richard Methia. The gala, which follows a similar event four years ago, is also a way to thank policymakers who have supported educational technology and to raise the profile of ed-tech issues for the new administration and Congress, Methia added.
