PRAXIS I ; for out of state teachers applying for an Arkansas teaching license, the PRAXIS II Special Area Test and the PRAXIS II Principles of Learning and Teaching scores are required. A Provisional license may be available for applicants possessing an expired certificate from out of state or to in-state applicants with program deficiencies (contact Office of Professional Licensure for more information).

Information about The PRAXIS Series tests
A Provisional License without a master's degree is valid for 6 years. A Provisional License with a master's degree is valid for 10 years. For renewing a license, the teacher must provide documentation showing either 2 years of teaching experience during the previous 6 years or show 6 hours of college coursework completed. If many years have passed since expiration, more requirements may be requested to reactivate license. Specific requirements for substitute teaching are decided by individual school districts.
