An Initial License lasts 5 years, a Standard License lasts 7 years and a Professional License lasts 10 years. All up to the expiration date on certificate. | For a Substitute License, one must complete teacher training program and hold regular teaching certification in Nebraska or other state. It expires on Aug. 31 on 5th year following the year of issuance or renewal. Local Substitute certificate lasts 40 days. |
