Information about The PRAXIS Series tests
Level I Provisional Certificate is valid for 6 service or teaching years in Pennsylvania's public schools. A Level II Certificate is issued after the holder of the Level I has completed the following: 3 years of experience, 24 postbaccalaureate credits and induction. Effective July 1, 2000, all educators must complete 6 collegiate credits or 6 Department-approved inservice credits or 180 hours of continuing education activities in order to maintain their certificates as active. Substitute must hold some type of certificate unless school says otherwise.
