It's Up to You! The Election Process

This four-week Integrate Project meets standards for civics, writing, and math for 8th to 12th grades. Standards, teacher-led activities, student-centered activities, and resources included.

This project is excellent during a national election but can easily be adapted for local elections or even when an election is not taking place.

Students design election flyers and posters for forms of government, diagram the election process, learn about the election process in other countries, evaluate candidates, conduct research on the major political parties, collect and analyze data, participate in a mock election and prepare a persuasive paper.
