Winter Holiday WebsitesUse these holiday websites as sources for classroom activities. For example, using one or more of the sites with recipes, have the class use MS Excel to create a meal large enough to feed the entire class or to convert metric measurements to standard. Or break students into groups to create their own activities based on the principals of Kwanzaa. For example, students can go out into the school community and create a Umoja (unity) newsletter with articles on community events and classifieds. To demonstrate Ujima (collective work responsibility), students can help clean up the school neighborhoods by picking up litter, washing off graffiti, doing errands for seniors, and so on. Have students create a World Holiday timeline including celebrations all around the world. Multicultural websites
